Child Welfare

Child Welfare

Golf Development Wales is a member of the Children in Golf (CiG) partnership. This is a partnership of Governing Bodies and organisations of Golf throughout Great Britain and Ireland . Together each organisation has committed to work in partnership to ensure that the sport of golf is one within which children and young people involved can thrive and flourish in a safe environment.
All clubs, counties and organisations that provide opportunities for young golfers, should do so to the highest possible standards, and the policies and procedures of Children in Golf are recommended to everyone, whether paid or unpaid. Everyone has a responsibility. For example: staff; volunteers; members; PGA professionals; coaches; referees; clubs and counties.

Child Protection Policy

Golf Development Wales recommends that every club and organisation involved in golf in Wales should adopt the ‘Guidelines for Safeguarding Children in Golf’
The policy and guidelines set out a framework to fulfil Golf's commitment to good practice and the protection of children and young people in its care within the game. These guidelines can be adapted by each organisation.
