Golf Awareness Week 2010

altWelsh FREE Golf Week - recruit nomadic golfers to membership

Golf Awareness Week is an initiative being launched by Golf Development Wales and the Home Unions - supported by the R&A. This is aimed at attracting nomadic and lapsed member golfers to membership and to encourage beginners to take up the sport. The successful scheme was piloted in Scotland last year when participating clubs gained many new members.

With a campaign titled 'Pick it up for the Ryder Cup', the week will ‘tee off’ after the US Masters, seen as the traditional start of the golf season, running from the 12th to 18th April 2010.

During this week golf clubs throughout Wales will set aside a number of FREE tee-times for individuals who are not members of golf clubs and offer a membership package for that week only.

Clubs will receive promotional support, resources for the club to attract local nomads and be involved in the media coverage that Golf Awareness Week will generate.
