Tenovus Pink Golf Day !
Tenovus, the official charity for Ryder Cup Wales 2010 Ltd has teamed up with Golf Development Wales to launch ‘Tenovus Pink Day’. The pink golf day is taking place in association with the Golf Development Wales Women’s Golf Initiative. This is a scheme to encourage women to take up golf, by subsidising introductory lessons at various clubs across Wales. The Tenovus Pink Day is a way of welcoming these prospective new members to the club, and raising money for Tenovus at the same time!
The golf clubs are free to put on any kind of ‘pink’ event that they like, though some suggestions include paying to dress in pink on competition day, holding a pink coffee morning, or holding a pink raffle and cake sale.
The club who puts on the most original pink event will receive 2 practice day tickets for the 2010 Ryder Cup in Wales.
If your club would like to take part contact Tenovus on golf@tenovus.com or call Sarah on 02920 768864 for an application form.
Claudia McVie, Tenovus Chief Executive said:
“Cancer incidence in Wales is 22% higher than in England, and Tenovus is working to meet the needs of today’s cancer patients by delivering cancer treatment and services closer to their homes.
“The money raised from this event will go towards funding the first mobile unit of its kind in Wales along with a network of local support centres to deliver the best cancer care.”
Tenovus needs the support of people in the community through volunteering, donating or fundraising to make this happen. Find out more at www.tenovus.org.uk or phone 02920 768850.
