Fancy becoming a caddie ?
Are you 16 or over and would like to share your local knowledge with visitors. There is also a training course you can attend.
Visit Wales and the Wales National Caddy Scheme, will be hosting a number of training events throughout Wales for all registered caddies and bag carriers. The purpose of these events is to create a gold standard for approved caddies, which will ensure all caddies on the programme are able to provide a quality service, and also have sufficient golf and sense of place knowledge.
Our aim is to ensure that Caddies operating within the Wales National Caddy Finder Scheme, are able to do more than just carry the players golf bag. Providing a unique experience and welcome is key to the service. With the help of Visit Wales, and our Professional Caddy Master Davy Gilchrist (Caddy Master at Kingsbarns Golf Links in St Andrews) the training sessions will cover the following points:
• Conducting yourself as a Caddy.
• Golf etiquette and the role of the Caddy.
• Course knowledge, and yardages etc.
• Sense of place, some general knowledge on the course, and surrounding locality.
The following dates and venues have been arranged for the 2009 Caddy Scheme.
Celtic Manor Thursday 26th March 10.00 am
Royal St David's Friday 27th March 10.00 am
