"Driving Change" in Wales

Over the last few years golf clubs throughout Wales have had the opportunity to participate in a ‘Driving Change’ consultancy and training programme. The programme is aimed specifically at assisting golf clubs throughout Wales increase income and maximise the impact from Ryder Cup Wales 2010 by attracting and re-attracting more golf playing visitors, and highlighting methods to secure better value for members. It’s a consultancy and training programme aimed at helping clubs/courses to provide added value to members and also achieve a greater return from visiting golfers through improved marketing methods. Club representatives come together for an introductory workshop to discuss golf course marketing in broad terms. This is then followed by an advisory visit to the club from an experienced consultant to look at a club’s specific marketing and operating issues. Finally, a review workshop is held to establish the progress that has been made following the advisory visit.

Over 70 clubs in Wales have participated in the ‘Driving Change’ programme so far. There are still clubs in North/Mid Wales and in South Wales yet to take advantage of this training programme. Two further training programmes are now planned for this autumn as follows:

20 October 2009 (9am till 5pm) at Llandudno Maesdu Golf Club

22 October 2009 (9am till 5pm) at Wenvoe Castle Golf Club,
Wenvoe, nr Cardiff.

Clubs that have yet to attend this training course are urged to make a point of attending one of this autumn’s training courses.

Above Par Customer Service - Through Driving Change

In attending the seminar the “Golf Tourism Toolkit ‘Driving Change’ is brought to life, directly for you, by the golf industry’s acknowledged guru on all matters golf – Steven Brown FBII - whose tremendous depth of knowledge of customer care is presented in a humorous and challenging delivery style.
