Cradoc Awarded Junior GolfCert
Cradoc has been awarded the Junior Golf Higher Certificate for being proactive in promoting golf to the juniors in the local area. The club has run schemes in all the primary schools of Brecon and has also taken golf into 2 local secondary schools, Cradoc also has an affiliation with the local private school Christ College for the past 2 years. From these schemes the club has then organised golf camps in the school holidays to continue the development of the golfers, this continuing development has seen the juniors of Cradoc become very competitive in the local leagues winning the 'B' League on 3 occasions and coming close to winning both the 'A' and 'B' Leagues last year. Cradoc has been able to succeed with the help and support from the members of the club and the juniors desire to get the best out of their own games.
Cradoc has used the Tri Golf system in the Primary Schools, the 5 x 60 system in the Secondary Schools and Dragon Golf and the Junior Passport at the Golf Club. These systems have introduced the juniors to the game of golf and have then progressed them into acheiving a handicap so that they can play in compeititons and matches. We also run weekly competitions for the juniors and monthly skills tests, the skills test works on their ability to hit fairways and greens and also tests their short game against each other and their own previous results.
