PUDSEY BEAR GOLF CHALLENGE 2010
In conjunction with “BBC Children In Need Appeal”, you are invited as one of many golf clubs in Wales to take part in the PUDSEY BEAR GOLF CHALLENGE.
The idea is for each club to arrange a golf day on their course with all proceeds going to “Children In Need”. The winner of the club event would then take part in a final, which would be held at the Grove Golf Club in Porthcawl on Sunday 10th October. A donated trophy will be presented to the winners and hopefully played for annually.
The Grove Golf Club has arranged a shot-gun start event, Format Two Ball Better Ball, Stableford, which will be held on Sunday 22nd August entry fee £5 per person, the event would be open to team’s of Men, Ladies, Juniors or Mixed pairs. You may consider inviting guests or celebrities to your event, this will be acceptable, to maximise the appeal fund, however, only the best score of the club members will go forward to the final.
Each club will dictate its own entry fee but follow the same golfing format.
If you do not take part in the golfing event you are still open to make a donation to “BBC Children In Need Appeal” by sending your donation to me at the Grove Golf Club making any donations payable to BBC CHILDREN IN NEED. All donations collected from the clubs will be made on the Children In Need night on Friday 19th November 2010 at the Grove Golf Club.
All of the money collected through the BBC Children in Need Appeal supports disadvantaged children and young people here in the UK. Many of those projects may be near your golf club or your home. As an illustration we are attaching a list of projects in Wales that have received support during the last 12 months. A further £3 million is currently being allocated to local Welsh projects. If you would like any further information about how the money benefits children in your area please feel free to contact the Head of the Appeal in Wales, Marc Phillips, at BBC Wales (029 2032 2383 or marc.phillips@bbc.co.uk).
This is an easy way to have fun and raise money for good causes; we hope to get support from you all, in one way or another.
It is proposed/suggested to have this as an annual event, having the final located throughout Wales, North, Mid and South therefore, please consider supporting.
We support charities abroad, yet in many instances we have as much suffering on our doorstep, I hope your club will support the “Children In Need Appeal” in some small way.
