Cilgwyn Golf Club - Championing Tri-Golf |
In
2005 Cilgwyn Golf Club has visited six local primary schools
giving children Tri-Golf taster sessions. Over 300 children
recevied this coaching as part of a project to attract more
juniors to golf and the club.
The project was mostly funded by a Community Chest Grant where
the money was used to buy the necessary equipment and cover
other costs.
Following the three free school sessions the children were invited
for further lessons and Tri-Golf festival days at the club.
Over 35 children from Lampeter, Llangybi, Cwmann, Llanddewi,
Llangeitho and Tregaron schools registered and attended these
sessions during the summer before they were allowed to play
on a specially designed Tri-Golf course at the club. All the
children enjoyed the sessions and look forward to next year's
project. |
