Congratulations to Jake Roberts of Baron Hill Golf Club who achieved every youngster’s dream on Friday 31st August 2007 of getting a hole-in-one.

Jake holed out at the 130yd 17th hole with a seven iron in the Bonc Newydd Cup.
13 year old Jake from Llandegfan started playing golf at Baron Hill in May this year having played a few rounds at Llangefni, so in 4 months not only has he reduced his handicap to ‘26’ but achieved a hole-in-one in a competition; the first junior to do so at the club since records began.

Eight year old, Luke Harries from Pembroke (pictured), a member of South Pembs and Trefloyne Golf Clubs, has just returned from Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA having represented the United Kindgom in the US Kids Golf World Championships for the second consecutive year.
With temperatures topping 100 degrees, the competition consisted of 3 medal rounds, off scratch, played over 3 days. With rounds of +1, +1 and -2 Luke finished tied 5th place out of a field of 110 competitors.
Likewise, Tim Harry from the Vale of Glamorgan, also finished within the Top 6 in the under 9 age category.
Congratulations to both on two excellent performances.
