FUNDING
Club Fundraising can be a laugh
Jongleurs Comedy Club in Cardiff has teamed up with the Welsh Sports Association (WSA), the umbrella body for all of the national governing bodies of sport and physical recreation in Wales, to help golf clubs raise money by going out and having a laugh.
The Millennium Plaza venue are the first major chain to sign up to Welsh Sports Rewards, an initiative developed by the WSA to enable Welsh sporting bodies and clubs to generate much needed income.
Clubs can take advantage of the initiative by organising a social event at Jongleurs, purchasing tickets directly from the comedy club for £4 per person using a code provided by the Welsh Sports Association and charging members £8 (the standard entry price).
Jongleurs’ promotions manager, Lex Levene explains the support they are giving to Welsh Sport “Each Friday night, for every Welsh sports club affiliated to this initiative, we are giving the opportunity to use our venue to host fundraising events. For every ticket they buy, we will donate a similar face value ticket in return. We organise the comedy and the catering, sports clubs just organise themselves".
The Welsh Sports Association is standing by to help you maximise the potential of this initiative, so please visit: http://www.trytime.org.uk/mainsite/jongleurs.html or click here to download a poster.
